Our Story

My name is Duane Pittman and I've been an entrepreneur for over 40 years. The Entrepreneurial Spirit is part of my DNA which I now believe (and hope) I've passed on to my children. Over the years, I have founded, managed, and sold a number of small businesses, learning and growing with each iteration. I believe that small business plays an important role in the financial stability of this economy and I am proud to be part of that infrastructure.

Vector Business Consulting, like any other business, started with an idea: to offer small businesses new to government contracting access to years of experience and tradecraft. I wanted to allow these businesses to make timely and informed decisions during the performance of their contracting obligations. I learned how important this is through my personal experiences founding and running a prior business, Vector Electric, and winning countless government contracts over the years.

I am proud to be able to now offer this assistance to other businesses in need. I am proud of my commitment to the local community by developing and using local vendors and sub-contractors in the performance of our contracts. I am proud to have had the opportunity to mentor and train so many young people as they started their careers in business and the electrical industry. But my biggest accomplishment from which I take the most pride is knowing that after all these years, I am still able to create jobs to improve the lives of others.

The success of Vector Business Consulting demonstrates that those of us who are in the transition years of our careers are quite often in the best positions to understand markets and opportunities in our business arenas.
