Beware of RFQ Fraud Scams

A Quick Tip for those New to GovCon and Anxious to get their First Contracts. Beware of RFQ Fraud Scams!

This re-post of a Fraud Alert from the GSA Inspector General late last year is an eye opener. Especially as many of us have noticed an increased uptick of these in our In Boxes.

Notable Quotes:

“The General Services Administration (GSA) Office of Inspector General is aware of scams involving disguised or “spoofed” email addresses that target small businesses and large businesses, including federal contractors registered in SAM.gov.”

“These “spoofed” emails appear to originate from government email domains, including “.gov” or “.mil”, but have non-government domain extensions such as “.net”, “.org”, or “.com.”

The report goes on to elaborate on the elements of the fraud and how you can protect yourself and your company. Good Reminders. Two minute read.
